FREEWAY RESERVE

Public BBQ

A huge reserve that manages to hold a soccer pitch, a cricket ground and an archery field without feeling crowded. A concrete and tan track circles the grounds with exercise stations placed along it, and the gentle uphill makes it a decent ride or run — plenty of people do laps here after work. Wide open grass covers the middle for games, and an access point leads to the bridge over the freeway to Brandon Park Drive. The synthetic soccer pitch is good and the venue handles functions. Two drawbacks: the toilets are not opened to the public, and the cricket square sits on a noticeable slant with a very slow outfield.
